Marie Connole is a Visual Artist based in the west of Ireland. Marie’s work draws inspiration from nature, folklore, and the deep connection between people and the land. Through painting, illustration, and community events, she explores how culture and environment shape our sense of belonging.
Marie has illustrated the Clare County National Biodiversity Action Plan 2025–2031. Her recent solo exhibition, ‘Submerged: Cill Stuifín’ at Cultúrlann Sweeney Gallery, Kilkee (June 2025), focused on a myth of a lost Atlantic village. Previous work on this theme has been exhibited in a solo exhibition at the Irish Arts Center in New York (2018).
Marie has exhibited with EVA International, the National Gallery of Ireland, and the Royal Ulster Academy. She is the recipient of awards including the Decade of Centenaries Arts Award.Passionate about sharing creativity, Marie also leads art education initiatives and brings art into unexpected spaces, inviting people to connect to their own stories in new ways.
