The Stand

‘The Stand’ depicts a black crow standing against a pure red backdrop.

There is a sense of unease. The calm, determined stance of the bird against the starkness and vivacity of the background colour, both create a sense of tension and aggression.

This small oil on canvas was previously exhibited at the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts in Belfast.
